The standard maintenance program for Genesis units includes routine periodic inspections, as described in the following chart:
SCHEDULED INSPECTIONS
    Cooling System
  • Check for air restriction
  • Check condition and tension on belts
  • Check that motor-operated louvers are working properly
    Exhaust System
  • Visually check for leaks and restrictions
    Air Intake System
  • Visually check for leaks, holes and loose connections/clamps
    Electrical System
  • Check for proper operation of meters
  • Check specific gravity of battery liquid
    Test Load Bank


ANNUAL INSPECTIONS
    Maintenance (annual)
  • Change oil
  • Take oil sample
  • Change filters
    Battery and Charger (semi-annual)
  • Conduct load test
  • Check specific gravity
  • Conduct acid test
  • Check for corrosion (clean if necessary)
  • Test charger output (adjust if necessary)
    Coolant System (check only)
  • Check belts and tension
  • Check louvers
  • Check air flow restriction
    Engine Not Running (check only)
  • Check spark plugs
  • Check starter and all wiring
  • Check Oil level
    Fuel System
  • Check for leaks
  • Check governor linkage
    Intake and Exhaust (check only)
  • Check air cleaner
  • Check turbocharger
  • Check muffler and traps
  • Check for leaks
  • Check breather
  • Check flex pipe
  • Check rain cap
